This is the plain-English privacy policy for the Voices of Old family of apps and websites, including Homer's Odyssey: Read Aloud. It applies to the web reader at odyssey.voicesofold.com, the landing page at voicesofold.com, and the iOS and Android apps.
We don't collect personal information about you. We don't have user accounts. We don't track you. We don't run ad networks or analytics.
Nothing personally identifying. We don't ask for your name, email, location, contacts, photos, microphone, or anything similar.
Mobile app purchases. If you buy the in-app unlock on iOS or Android, Apple or Google handles the purchase entirely. Their standard purchase receipt is forwarded to a service called RevenueCat, which checks that the receipt is real and tells the app "yes, this device owns the unlock." RevenueCat sees an anonymous device identifier — not your Apple ID or Google account, not your name, not your email. RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Web purchases. If you buy the unlock on the website, the purchase is handled by LemonSqueezy, a third-party payment processor. LemonSqueezy collects the information needed to process your payment (email, payment method). We do not see or store your payment details. Crash data. If the app crashes, the operating system may send a crash report to Apple or Google. We do not run our own crash-reporting service.
We do not collect your name, phone number, location, photos, contacts, calendar, microphone, camera, reading progress, bookmarks, or any analytics about your usage. Your reading position is stored on your device only. The app has no ads and no advertising identifiers.
Effectively nowhere. Audio files are downloaded from Cloudflare's content delivery network and cached on your device. Cloudflare may record your IP address when serving files, as any web server does. We don't retain or analyse that information.
This app is suitable for all ages and does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
Since we don't store personal data, there's nothing for us to give you a copy of or delete. If you'd like us to confirm that in writing, email support@voicesofold.com.
If we ever change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. We will not retroactively start collecting data the policy used to say we didn't collect.
